Friends Bajrang Punia is an Indian wrestler who defeated Japanese wrestler Taktani Daichi 11-8 in a one-sided contest in the men’s 65kg category final at the recent Asian Games. And he won gold medals in Asian Games. He is the 9th wrestler of India. Friends, Bajrang Punia was born on 24 February 1994 in Khudan village of Jhajjar district of Haryana state, India. Punia was very fond of wrestling since childhood, he started practicing wrestling from the age of 7. Friends Punia’s father saw his interest in wrestling and encouraged him (his father was also a wrestler). Friends, Punia used to take great pleasure in listening to the earlier talks of the elders of his village.

Career and Records
Friends Punia won the men’s freestyle 60kg medal in the 2013 Asian Wrestling Champion by defeating North Korean wrestler Hwang Ryok 3-1 in the final.
His Punia defeated Iran’s wrestler Masood 0-4 in the year 2014 and won the 61 kg Kasya medal for men’s fristile at the Asian Champions.
At the 2015 World Asian Championships, Bajrang Punia had failed to win the Kasya medal at Lash Vegas and finished fifth in contrast to his teammate Narsingayadav.
In the month of May 2017, Bajrang Punia won the gold medal in the Asian Wrestling Champion held in Delhi.
In the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Punia won the men’s freestyle 65kg gold medal in Australia, defeating Wales wrestler Ken Charig.
In the year 2018 itself, Punia won the men’s freestyle 65kg gold medal on August 19, in which Punia defeated Japanese wrestler Takhtani Daichi 11-8.
In the year 2019, Bajrang Punia won the Kasya medal again in the World Wrestling Champion, qualifying the 2020 Techyo Olympic in 65kg freestyle wrestling event.
In the 2020 Rank Series, Punia defeated Oliver of Jordan 4-3 in the 65kg men’s freestyle on January 18 in the Rank Series.
